RENO, Nev. (October 14, 2020) – The Orthopaedic Implant Company (OIC) is celebrating its 10-year anniversary, marking a decade of challenging convention in the orthopaedic industry to lower costs without compromising implant quality and patient outcomes. Back in 2010, Itai Nemovicher, OIC’s current President and CEO, recognized the vast challenges associated with rising implant costs. Working then as a sales manager for a big box orthopaedic company, Nemovicher witnessed first-hand how the lack of clear pricing standards driven by profit-first corporate mentality was negatively impacting the lives of those undergoing orthopaedic surgeries and excessively burdening the healthcare system. Something had to change.
Nemovicher soon partnered with orthopaedic trauma surgeon Peter Althausen, and together they conceived a way to change the orthopaedic implant business by eliminating excessive and extraneous sales and marketing expenses, focusing on a simplified delivery model. With a well-versed knowledge of the industry and a dedication to providing better clinical and financial outcomes, OIC was established in September 2010 in Reno, Nevada.
